The story behind i-thriv

i-thriv was founded on a simple premise: the best part of a spa shouldn't be the drive home. Wellness should meet you where you already are.

What started as a network of trusted Southern California massage therapists, estheticians, and sound healers has grown into a platform serving residents, vacation-rental guests, corporate teams, and SDP participants across four regions — with every session delivered by an independent, certified, and insured professional.

Our story

Built Through Resilience, Growth & Purpose

The story of i-thriv is not one of overnight success. It is a story of persistence, adaptability, continuous learning, and a commitment to helping others thrive.

Founder Danielle Thunig began her wellness journey more than 19 years ago, building relationships one client at a time and learning the industry from the ground up. What started with a massage table, a passion for helping people, and a vision for something bigger gradually evolved into a growing wellness company serving clients throughout Southern California.

Like many entrepreneurs, Danielle faced challenges, setbacks, and unexpected turns along the way. Each became an opportunity to learn, adapt, and move forward. Through changing markets, economic uncertainty, and the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, she remained committed to her mission of bringing high-quality wellness services directly to clients.

In 2020, Danielle launched a luxury mobile wellness concept inside a renovated Airstream trailer designed for private events and elevated wellness experiences. Although the pandemic temporarily paused those plans, it reinforced an important lesson: growth is rarely a straight line. Success often comes through resilience and adaptation.

Rather than stepping back, Danielle continued expanding her vision. She went on to operate a highly rated vacation rental in Temecula's De Luz community, combining hospitality and wellness by offering massage and wellness services to guests. This experience provided valuable insight into what people value most—convenience, comfort, and personalized care—and helped shape many of the ideas that would later become part of the i-thriv platform.

Throughout the years, revenue generated from wellness services was continually reinvested into marketing, technology, operations, and future growth. This self-funded approach allowed the business to grow organically while maintaining a strong focus on service quality and client care.

Today, i-thriv reflects nearly two decades of real-world experience, innovation, and a belief that wellness should be more accessible, convenient, and personalized. What began as a one-person mobile massage business has evolved into a growing wellness brand with a vision for continued expansion.

The name i-thriv represents more than a company—it reflects a mindset. A belief that growth is a journey, challenges create opportunities, and with dedication and purpose, it is possible to keep thriving even when circumstances change.

Danielle remains actively involved in the field while leading the next chapter of i-thriv's growth. With the i-thriv mobile app scheduled to launch in 2026, her mission remains the same as when she first started: helping people feel better, live better, and thrive wherever life takes them.
